July marked a big turnaround for the clean energy industry as the number of jobs created has finally overcome the number of layoffs, with 3,200 new jobs added last month, reports Bloomberg Law.
The gain is small compared to the more than 620,000 jobs which have been lost since the start of the pandemic, but is providing a glimmer of hope for the industry. The American Council on Renewable Energy, E2, and other clean energy advocacy groups are urging Congress to make existing tax credits for wind, solar, and other projects refundable now to provide projects with much-needed funding to leverage investment.
