The Department of Energy has released a “notice of intent” to gather input ahead of starting the process of pushing $2.5 billion towards transmission upgrades and expansion, reports Axios.
The program is one of several recent initiatives to expand and upgrade the nation’s transmission system, as an over-aged grid is hindering new energy production and contributing to power failures.
