As the numbers roll in from 2019, it is clear that the fast-growing wind industry is showing no signs of slowing down, reports the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis.

A recent update published by the Energy Information Administration showed that wind-generation capacity reached 100GW in December 2019, meaning that wind capacity has more than doubled since 2012, and has grown by 300 percent over the last decade. The EIA is predicting that another 14.3GW of capacity will be installed in 2020.

The growth of the wind industry is being driven by a combination of economics and technological advances. As wind turbines continue to gain efficiency and the industry grows, some states, like New York, are preparing for the future demand for wind-workers.
