The Tennessee Valley Authority is considering shutting down three of its coal plants to be replaced with natural gas plants, reports the Associated Press. The utility says the coal plants are aged and no longer practical.
Critics are calling for the Tennessee Valley Authority to install solar energy rather than natural gas, arguing that the utility already has plenty of natural gas resources and ought to invest in more diverse energy sources.
