Europe’s energy crisis and energy shortages in China have caused demand for American shipments of liquified natural gas (LNG) to skyrocket, reports CNN Business. For the first time, the U.S. has overcome Qatar and Australia as the top exporter of LNG.
Experts predict the U.S. will hold this spot for the remainder of 2022 as the energy crisis in Europe is expected to continue, and fears of limited natural gas supply from Russia grow as tensions rise along its Ukraine border.
