U.S. Nuclear Industry Lobbying to Keep Russian Uranium Out of Sanctions

The U.S. nuclear power industry is urging the White House to continue allowing imports of Russian uranium amid escalating global sanctions and calls for a halt on imports of Russian oil, reports Reuters.

Nuclear power produces 20% of electricity in the U.S., with nearly half of the required uranium coming from Russia and its allies Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
