Hyundai has announced plans to construct a $5.5 billion plant in Georgia which will produce both electric vehicles, and electric vehicle batteries, reports the Associated Press.

The plant will be located in Bryan County near Savannah, Georgia and is expected to create thousands of jobs. 

“Hard-working Georgians are going to have the opportunity to have a really high-paying, advanced manufacturing job with a great company,” said Georgia Governor Brian Kemp during the announcement.
