Mercedes-Benz has opened a new electric battery vehicle factory near Tuscaloosa, Alabama which will create up to 600 new jobs while boosting supply of lithium-ion batteries needed to manufacture the car company’s two new EV models, according to the Associated Press.
“Mercedes-Benz will expand its partnerships with the world’s leading battery technology companies,” the company said in a statement. Mercedes said it plans to be fully electric by the end of the decade.
