Despite dodging the crippling blackouts experienced in Texas in February, residents of midwestern states like Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas are still struggling to pay billions in gas bills accumulated due to astronomically high natural gas prices during the storm, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Bipartisan lawmakers in the states are calling for investigations into market manipulation, and are debating whether or not the interstate gas market may need more federal oversight.
