  • New U.S. Generating Capacity Expected to Double in Second Half of 2022 

The United States is projected to add 29.4GW of new generation capacity to the grid in the second half of 2022, nearly double the 15.1GW added in the first half, reports Utility Dive.

While more efficient, cleaner forms of power are added, grid operators are also expected to retire 15.1GW of production, 76% of which will be coal.
