As more car producers add electric vehicle models to their lineups, states are competing for the highly valued factories which bring jobs and an economic boost to the areas they are built. Kentucky and Tennessee used various incentives to attract two of Ford’s most recent plants, reports theĀ Courier Journal.

Among these incentives were performance-based loans, committing to invest in training a workforce for the factories, and even a promise to build a new College of Applied Technology next to the future site of Ford’s manufacturing campus.
